Service Description

Join us for a day of creativity and connection with nature in the tranquil setting of Jemma's studio and the surrounding woods. We'll spend the morning in the woods surrounding, stopping along the way for drawing exercises aimed at honing our observation skills and capturing the natural scenery. Alongside Jemma's arts practice she is also a keen forager. She will also share insights into the edible plants available in summer. Following a break for lunch, we'll transition to the studio for an afternoon of artistic expression. Using the plant materials we've gathered and our sketches as references, Jemma will guide us through the process of creating handmade monoprints. Monoprinting allows for a great deal of spontaneity and experimentation, making it a popular choice among artists looking to explore different textures, colours, and effects in their work. It offers a perfect balance between control and unpredictability, making each print a truly original piece of art. A small sketchbook and pencils will be provided for the morning session, but please feel free to bring your own if you'd prefer. Please wear suitable clothing, and shoes, as we'll be navigating potentially muddy terrain. Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided throughout the day but bring a packed lunch.
