2 week Reduction Lino Cutting
North Gallery Workspace, North Street, Southville
Monday 28th Feb and 7th March
In this workshop you will learn the process of Reduction Lino Printing, a multi-layered and colourful print process. Using just one lino block, you will learn how to design your chosen image into layered blocks and print a small edition of your design.
Led by experienced Lino cut printmaker Victoria Willmott from Bristol Print Collective you will learn the basics of lino cutting and printing in multiple layers. The workshop will take place at North Gallery Workspace over two weeks.
The first week, on February 28th, you will be guided through carving and printing the first layers of your lino design. On the second week (March 7th) you will complete the image by carving and printing the final layer.
This workshop is great for those who have already attended an Introduction to Lino Printing Workshop and want to further their understanding and skills. It is also suitable for beginners who are interested in exploring a new print technique!
Feel free to bring along sketches or design ideas for inspiration however resources are provided to make it enjoyable and easy to learn on the night. All materials included, come along and get inky! Tea, coffee and biscuits provided and feel free to BYOB too!
Please make sure you can attend both sessions before booking! The first is on 28th Feb, and the second on 7th March.

On the night, you'll be drawing with various greasy materials onto tinfoil, and then processing with fizzy cola! Yes – you read that right; fizzy cola somehow works its magic to help print your creation – but if you want to find out how, you'd better get yourself down to this event!
This is a fun and experimental workshop, one not to miss! Delicious coffee and cake will be available to purchase from Alex Does Coffee on the night.

2 week Print and Pottery
Tues 26th Feb and 5th March
6.30 - 8.30pm
£45 for 2 weeks (including all materials)
In this workshop we will be experimenting with printmaking and pottery techniques, combining these two different processes and skills to make unique ceramic tiles and a hand built slab pot. Led by Vicky from Bristol Print Collective and Alice of Trylla Shop.
In the first session (Tuesday 26th February), Vicky will show you how to create a lino cut stamp ready for pressing into clay. Firstly you will carve out a design using lino cutting tools and finally, use the lino stamps to imprint onto pre-cut clay tiles. In the second session (5th March) Alice will lead you through how to build a pot using clay slabs that you will decorate with your lino cut stamps from the first session.
In each session you will be able to use a selection of brightly coloured slips to decorate your tiles and pots. Your work will be left at the studio to be fired, ready to collect from Trylla Shop two weeks later.
This workshop will be held in the cosy basement pottery studio at Trylla which is accessible only by stairs. Please note the studio has a low ceiling (175cm), but this will not interfere with the workshop as you will be sat at a table. There is a toilet upstairs and tea and coffee will be provided. BYOB welcome, if that’s your vibe!
Please make sure you can attend both sessions before booking! The first is February 26th, the second is March 5th
2 Week Mono-printing Workshop
Let's get inky! Take one step closer to more sustainable and plastic-free living and also learn a new skill by printing your own reusable cotton canvas shopper!
In this workshop we will be getting right back to basics, using vegetables to create sophisticated designs on to cotton tote bags. Using carving tools normally used for lino printing, you will carve your own design into the vegetables, then plan and print on to paper, before taking your final design on to the tote bag.
Fruit and vegetables will provided on the night, but feel free to bring any exotically shaped beauties that you think would create a beautiful print! Delicious coffee and cake will be available for purchase from Alex Does Coffee on the night.
72hr cancellation notice is needed for a full refund. Please email email@example.com if you are unable to make the workshop or are running late.
